Hi, I’m Marc

I’m a midwestern transplant living in the mid-south. I tend to write short pieces about how generative AI is impacting education, with some longer meandering essays about culture and that I hope provokes some thoughtful discussion.

My writing has appeared in the Pushcart Prize, Insider Higher Education, and I’ve been profiled about my day job in The Washington Post.

The author as a baby. This is me when I was about three—the age where I peaked emotionally . . .

I tend to post three or more times a month—usually writing when I have something to say. The longer pieces take more time and are precious. Paying subscribers get the honor of making this work possible.

You can follow me on Twitter ( I’m not calling it X) and also on Bluesky. I like to ruminate on ideas there before they wind up here.

Best,

Marc
